Hi, I'm Paula, wife to Greg for 26 years, mom of seven, retired nurse and midwife, now artist and adventurer.
I was received into the Catholic Church back in 2002, and one of the first things I wanted to do was learn to make rosaries. I made rosaries for about 12 or 13 years, taking a hiatus as I became busy with midwifery work. I thought I would have to put my beads away for good after being diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in 2022, a disease which affects my vision and the muscles in my hands at times, and which required me to retire from midwifery work.
When my daughter got married in 2026, she and my new Catholic son-in-law requested I make rosaries for their wedding, my fire for making rosaries was rekindled. I discovered that by working first thing in the morning, working in outside light, and working slowly, I can finish a rosary in a day. (But not every day.) I love to work outside in my prayer garden, and that's where this little apostolate got its name.
I love making rosaries! I pray as I work, and it brings me peace, calm, and joy. We humans are drawn to beauty, and we are more likely to want to pick up and hold beautiful beads, so I make my rosaries as beautiful as I can. I do this to honor our Lord and our Blessed Mother, to inspire my brothers and sisters in Christ to pray more, and to invite those who do not yet know our Lord and Blessed Mother.
To me, a rosary is more than just a set of pretty beads. The smooth or textured feel of the beads beneath my fingers, the weight of them in my hands, the visible symbol of my prayers...all these things immediately draw my heart, mind, and physical senses toward my Lord. Meditating on the mysteries of the rosary brings me comfort in times of anxiety, strength in times of stress, answers to the ponderings of my heart, gladness in times of thanksgiving. The graces I received from praying the rosary inspired me to begin making rosaries of my own, and this is my way of sharing the treasure I have found with others. I pray with every rosary I make that the recipient will be drawn near to The One who truly knows and loves them.
I want rosaries to be accessible to everyone, so I do my best to make them affordable. I also have a limited amount of FREE rosaries that I will send upon request.
